What makes a review helpful to other people
The reviews people find most useful are specific rather than long. Mentioning which service you actually used gives a reader far more to go on than a general compliment, because someone searching for help with an IRS notice is looking for something different from someone who needs their books cleaned up.
Useful things to mention include the type of work involved — individual or business tax preparation, monthly bookkeeping, a QuickBooks cleanup, payroll, an S-corporation or partnership return, IRS or FTB notice help, or year-round tax planning — along with what the process was like to deal with and whether you felt informed along the way.
A few honest sentences are plenty. There is no need to write at length, and a review does not need to be positive to be useful.

Do I need a Google account to leave a review?
Yes. Google only accepts reviews from signed-in Google accounts, so you will be prompted to sign in if you are not already. There is no way to post a Google review anonymously or without an account.
Can I edit or delete my review later?
Yes. A Google review belongs to you, not to the business. You can edit or delete it at any time from your own contributions in Google Maps, and you do not need to involve Catalyst CPA to do it.
Will you know who wrote the review?
Yes. Google reviews are public and display the reviewer’s Google profile name and photo. They are not anonymous, which is worth knowing before you write one.
How long does a review take to appear?
Usually a few minutes. Google occasionally takes longer to process a review, and in some cases filters one out automatically — that is Google’s system, and it is not something the business controls or can appeal on your behalf.
Should I mention my tax situation in the review?
Please keep the specifics out. Naming the service is helpful; naming figures is not. Anything you post is public and permanent, so leave out Social Security numbers, EINs, notice numbers, balances, refund amounts, and similar details.
Do you offer anything in exchange for a review?
No. Catalyst CPA does not offer discounts, gift cards, fee reductions, or any other incentive for leaving a review, and does not solicit reviews selectively. Incentivised reviews violate Google’s policies and FTC rules on endorsements, and they make every other review on the listing less trustworthy.
